Sketches - Valentines Fay

 Sketches I did for the PaperDemon Valentines Fay Flash Battle. Unfortunately I only got through two of the prompts, but I had a whole Ouran High School Host Club-themed game planned.

Character Design - Elodie

 One of my favorite characters, Elodie Allaire. Finally, she's no longer naked! I've actually drawn her multiple times before, but she does not usually wear clothes, and this outfit mostly appears in flashbacks.

Art - Slime-Eating Mushroom

 I finally did my slime battle for PaperDemon! Just in time for a big boss fight, too, so I don't have to feel guilty about fighting a boss before my first slime. I quite like how this turned out.

Character Design - Rico

 Finally got around to making a reference sheet for him. I had to actually color him in for the first time. Can't wait to get back to black and white and not have to worry about color theory. At least I can finally finish his Art Fight page! Almost saved over my No Sleep November sketches when I was doing this because I drew it on the same document, but luckily I found a way to revert to an old save and recovered them.

Art Meme - Age Your Character

 Decided to do another one of these while I was at it. Felt like drawing Ren, and I also got much-needed practice drawing babies and old people. What a shame that Ren is too silly to survive to middle age; the immortal wanderer would get along great with Old Ren and I spent a lot of time on their hairstyle. I suppose this is an alternate timeline where they survive and instead get a cool scar.

I've also realized that Ren's outfit needs a bit of an update, at least in the color department.

Art Meme - OC Challenge

 I wasn't feeling very inspired and the Oekaki isn't working again, so I picked something simple out of my challenge folder. Here's a fun sketch of a handful of my characters! 

Rico is honestly the hardest to draw because I struggle so much with his hair, but he already had a spot, so my immortal journalist earned "Hardest to Draw" simply because his outfit has so many pieces. Though Ren gave me quite a bit of trouble this time as well for some reason. And of course, I love any opportunity to draw Nyx. She's been the easiest OC for me to draw both before and after her redesign.

Sketches - Grumpy Man Adopts Annoying Detective

 Finally did some sketches of Zhihao and the Inspector's relationship. I really enjoy drawing on the Oekaki despite how simple and chunky the program is. The pen tool is fun and makes experimenting less stressful. Coloring is another thing, though.

 Something of a theme going on with these last few posts... Sometimes I wish I had a popular art blog in a big fandom so that I would inevitably be asked this question, and I can give an annoying answer like this. I'm not super happy with this, though. I just want to move on to something else.

 Some recent sketches I did in place of actually drawing anything. Mostly because I had no inspiration once I sat down with my tablet. Even when I had time to kill, the canvas just sat there laughing at me.

Sketch - Bathed in Green and Gold

 I finished another old sketch from CS, this time featuring my immortal wanderer and loosely inspired by Genshin Impact, which I've been playing a lot of. There are a lot of things I could have done better, but I'm still happy with it overall. Unfortunately, I also lost a lot of color due to Chrome's color management being broken - I can't see accurate colors when I draw using it.

Update: It was featured on the front page and got almost 400 likes! A lifelong dream finally accomplished!

Sketches - More Pokemon Gold

 I've gotten really carried away with this Pokemon AU. It's such a shame Pokemon Gold is already taken - I'll just have to call this AU Pokemon Literal-Gold. It would be such a fun Pokemon game.

I've planned it all out - what a productive use of time! I've decided that while Hayori's Oricorio is his main partner, his Yamask was a gift that his dad brought home for him from an excavation abroad. Also in this AU, the Inspector's partners are Arcanine, Corvisquire, and Cubone. He picked up the Cubone because he just could never leave an orphan alone. Rico has Rotom, Blipbug, and Porygon, as well as a Grimer just to stick it to his parents. And while I completely forgot about the Professor, the Femme-Fatale-Who-Still-Has-No-Name uses a Primarina, Salazzle, and Nicket (and maybe a Thwackey as well).

Sketch - Pokemon Gold

It's Gold playing Gold! I wanted to do something fun with colors. 

If he were a Pokemon trainer, his party would include Purrloin, Yamask, Unown (the ?), and Oricorio - switching up Oricorio's form for heists, of course! I've also considered Drizzile, Meowstic, Vulpix, or Abra for Hayori, but he's much tougher to pick Pokemon for.

 Finally found some time to doodle and this time I wanted to take a whack at a few characters I've been neglecting for ages. Rico finally has some kind of reference, The Wanderer now has more than just a reference, and I completely redesigned my very, very old Black Butler OC now that I've reread the series. Now on to more important work.

Animatic - The One Thing You Can't Replace

 Detective Conan edition! With this, the fandom has been officially christened. It did take far too long to make a hobby of, but I probably could have made it faster if I didn't spend so much time playing EverQuest II and Tomb Raider.

Art - Space is Big

Since I've been playing a ton of Portal, I wanted to draw something for it. Particularly of my favorite intelligence dampening sphere. The Oekaki is just as aggravating and unusable as usual, though. I should have used Photoshop; it would have turned out better.

Art Sketch

Procrastination, mostly. I played around with linear lighting, shading, and a two-tone color palette. That sounds much fancier than how it really went.
