I had a few ups and downs this year, but in the end, I pulled myself together and managed to break my spiraling art trend. I'm feeling hopeful for next year!
As an interesting side note, this year was the 10th anniversary of my very first digital art, which I drew on the Chickensmoothie Oekaki on June 5th, 2013. I hope I've improved!

Finally finished a piece I've had in my sketches for a while, a continuation of the story in this piece. This will officially mark the first increase in my total art count over the past five years, which may be a small victory, but I'm still very happy!

A short sketch break from my November NaNoWriMo world-building. Yesterday's task was to research Paris architecture. I can't believe I skipped the chapters of Les Misérables and The Hunchback of Notre-Dame that went into sloggingly unnecessary detail on this exact subject thinking it would never be important... Whatever was I thinking?

This one has been in the works since August, but I've only now gotten around to finishing it. Another picture of Rico in distress - will he ever be happy? I'm satisfied with it overall, but it could definitely be improved. I just wanted to be done with it.
Edit; This piece got featured on the front page and has now earned over 450 likes, beating my record by a long shot! I have officially broken 400 likes on one piece!

Finally finished a piece for the new season of the Life series! Martyn's POV is both hilarious and pitiful to watch, but it's all rather self-inflicted. Quite happy with the color values this time.

I have always struggled with profile angles. It turns out there is literally a well-known method involving triangles that apparently everyone knew but me?! I gave it a try, and just like that, I can draw profiles. Not perfect yet, but wow! What an improvement.
Ethan Becker's video discussing it helped a lot.

Actually sat down and worked on something for once. This was just something I've had in my head for a while and wanted to get down on paper. I'm still working on using stronger contrast, but I feel like I went too far this time. My composition could also use some work.

One last revenge for the year, caracali's aasimar Chime. Definitely an improvement from the last time I drew a muzzle flash. I wish I had been able to do some attacks of my own rather than just revenge the whole summer. I even had some mass attacks in mind. Maybe next year.

Every time I redraw his reference page, he gets a little more emo, but he's still rocking the pink converse from his original design. My Art Fight profile is a lie; I do have favorites and they are Gold and Ren. I really wanted to update his page before the month got too far along. I still have three revenges to get to.

Finally did some sketches of Zhihao and the Inspector's relationship. I really enjoy drawing on the Oekaki despite how simple and chunky the program is. The pen tool is fun and makes experimenting less stressful. Coloring is another thing, though.

Something of a theme going on with these last few posts... Sometimes I wish I had a popular art blog in a big fandom so that I would inevitably be asked this question, and I can give an annoying answer like this. I'm not super happy with this, though. I just want to move on to something else.
